This unique mother and baby class incorporates three disciplines – post-natal yoga, baby yoga and baby massage.
“Steps to postnatal recovery” for the mother can be started at any time after birth. Each step ‘closes’ the body and re-knits abdominal muscles using yoga breathing, with the additional effect of inducing deeper sleep and reducing post-natal fatigue. Babies are included in post-natal yoga classes: interactive mother and baby yoga moves promote ‘active bonding’ in age appropriate ways through the first weeks and months.
This class is also suitable for mothers who have given birth by caesarean section.
Most new mothers have not had the experience of caring for a newborn until they have their own. This class equips new mothers with skills to respond to their new babies in positive and enjoyable ways.
All our yoga classes are held at our beautiful studio in West Norwood, on the borders of West Dulwich in South London. Please note that we are on the third floor and do not have a lift and it is best if you come with your baby in a sling. If you do need to bring a buggy, please let us know and someone will help bring it up to park on a landing.
