The London Dance Academy (LDA) has been established for over nine years and was officially opened in January 2005 by Darcey Bussell.
The Principal and founding member is Kate Stober, a former dancer with the English National Ballet company, a qualified RAD registered teacher and a local mother of three.
We have been providing ballet classes for children of all ages and abilities at the Wilberforce Centre in a large, bright spacious studio with mirrors and sprung floor over-looking Clapham Common and now we are delighted to be hosting Saturday morning classes in a stunning new space, within the newly renovated St Thomas’s Church in Balham.
Our classes aim to provide a well-balanced fun introduction to classical dance and the children are given the opportunity to perform in a biennial show, with professional lighting and costumes. Our pupils are also given the chance to enter Royal Academy of Dance examinations every year, of which we have had 100% success rate (merit and above).
