Hi, I am a mother of two and a local ante and postnatal personal training specialist.
During pregnancy, I will work with you to maintain your fitness whilst helping you to achieve a healthy weight gain. I will continually address your posture and pelvic floor strength as implications of carry baby will put additional stress on these muscles. This leads to lack of balance, unnecessary ailments and aches and pains, especially in the back region, if left untrained.
Your postnatal workout also requires specialist knowledge, not least because hormones in your body lead to lax joints and your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles require gradual training after the effort of carrying baby. Functional exercises replicating the movements required to care for baby – squatting, lunging, lifting, holding – must be included to leave you feeling strong and able to cope.
