Auckland Castle stands apart as the medieval home and hunting lodge of the Prince Bishops of Durham who for centuries were equal in power to the Kings of England. Within this stunning Gothic palace today – you will uncover the stories of the men of great power, wealth, faith and passion, who resided here against a backdrop of nearly one thousand years of British history that played out within its walls and the surrounding parkland.
