The centre opened in 1999 originally for the maths programme only, but due to its rapid success, the English programme was added in 2003. The centre is now a positive, thriving study centre with approximately 80 students; 60 for maths and 20 for English. Students attend class from a large area, including Godmanchester, Grafham, St. Ives, Bluntisham, Cambourne, and from many local primary and secondary schools. Ages currently range from four to 15 years old and over, although Kumon caters for all ages. Many students have been attending the Godmanchester Study Centre for five years or more. Those students who can no longer attend class can continue their studies by correspondence. The class takes place in a large, light, warm hall, with a waiting area for parents and siblings at the side of the hall. Off-road parking is available in a car park near the school.
