Rhythm Circle is a series of holiday group classes designed to teach the basics of music to young children via musical games and activities.
Rhythm Circle aims to teach the basics of music to young children who may not have grasped the basics of literacy or numeracy. These children can then can go on to begin formal music lessons with confidence. Via a series of progressive activities including musical games, drawing, listening, children are familiarised with basic music notation and develop listening and counting skills. The course is not specific to any one type of instrument and is designed to be a precursor to formal lessons later on
Rhythm Circle is suitable for:
- children aged 5 (or those who have started Reception Year) upwards with no previous musical experience
- young music students (aged 5-7) wanting to improve their musical knowledge and confidence. Those preparing for music exams will find the dictation and composition activities helpful towards improving sight-reading and aural skills
- ideal preparation for young students interested in taking up formal music lessons
