A gallery in one of the country’s most prestigious museums is to be transformed into an animal- themed toddler-friendly space, when the new Mini Museum opens within Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on 22 October 2015.
The gallery has been designed to appeal to pre-school children, incorporating many of the paintings and exhibits that prove most popular with younger visitors to the museum, alongside comfortable soft seating areas and storytelling space.
The Mini Museum incorporates a mini puppet theatre where children can create their own shows, and other interactive activities linked to exhibits elsewhere in the museum – including a three dimensional jigsaw of an Egyptian mummy’s sarcophagus and a computer game which includes a virtual tour of other galleries.
Located next to the Edwardian Tearooms, it's an ideal venue for playdates and for parents to meet up when they are in town.
