Read for my School - the national schools reading competition
Would you like your child to read more? Are they currently in year 5 or 6? Then Read for My School, the exciting new national schools reading competition from The Pearson Foundation and Booktrust, with support from the Department for Education, is the perfect opportunity for them.
In January 2013, all children in years 5 and 6 who attend schools that have signed up for Read for My School will be invited to take part in this fun, free competition. Participating children will be challenged to read as much as they can, explore a variety of genres and formats and make their own choices as readers. They will also have the opportunity to read their way to rewards for themselves and their schools.
Play your part and make sure that the teachers at your child's primary school know that they can register free at www.readformyschool.co.uk from today. All schools that sign up will be entered into a prize draw to receive a donation of fantastic books taken from a pot of 100,000 titles provided by Pearson.
