Author biographies



Our science content has been put together by Christine Jenkins. Christine has worked in various primary school roles for almost 20 years, including both KS1 and KS2 teaching, subject leadership, senior school management as a deputy head and has particular expertise in assessment. As well as being a practising class teacher, she also works as a local authority home tutor (teaching children of all ages who are unable to attend school through illness). She has also worked as an educational author and consultant, writing and contributing to a large number of resources across all primary subjects.


Kate Ruttle

Reading and phonics

Our reading and phonics content is written by Kate Ruttle. Kate is a literacy expert. She is a deputy head and classroom teacher, and has written and contributed to series of high-profile publications that support children in learning to read.



Amanda SnowdenHazel GlynnOur literacy content is written by Hazel Glynn and Amanda Snowden. Hazel and Amanda are experienced classroom teachers and literacy consultants. They currently work as advisers for their Local Education Authority, supporting schools with best practice in literacy lessons and undertaking CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training for teachers.



Our maths content is written by Sheila Renshaw and Janet Sinclair: Sheila and Janet both have substantial teaching experience within the primary age range - Sheila as a maths consultant and Janet as a primary school head teacher and OFSTED inspector. They have studied the teaching of maths in depth and want to ensure it is presented to pupils as a fascinating, and challenging, subject.
