Middle names are a waste of time anyway. No one ever thinks about them. My DC both have two, I have no idea why I bothered.

That's fine! One of my aunt's is Kay Frances and her sister is Frances Lynne. There are 6 sisters in all and I think my nan ran out of ideas .

Personally? I wouldn't - even though I agree it;s a lovely name. Just that potential to feel lie your name isn't special because it's shared (& I can imagine that from both sisters...) Have you mentioned it to DD1?

I wouldn't. I think it is important for each child to be unique within the family. Your name is such a personal thing - I know there are people with the same name I mean within the family. You have to have your own. imo.

Cecily is really nice. I think its OK for Mother/daughters to share names but am not sure at all about siblings. You may find you are forever explaining yourself

Myself and my two sisters all have Elizabeth as our middle name.

Had never made the remotest difference to our lives at all.

I mentioned yesterday that one aunt has her sister's middle name as her first name. I only found this out a few years ago. People really don't pay much attention at all to middle names. So I don't see it as imperative to give each child completely different names to make them all feel unique.
My husband's Russian and Russian boys take their father's first name as a middle name. We have one boy and if we have any more they too will have the same middle name.
I still say, go with Cecilia! You love it and would be a shame to 'waste' it because it's your daughter's middle name.

I would feel that DD4 is likely to have enough hand-me-downs (clothes, bikes etc)without a name to boot! In any case, good luck for your induction!

I knew of someone with 2 girls, Kate Elizabeth and Elizabeth Kate, because she loved the names so much.

Personally I wouldn't but would use a similar version of the name.

What about Cordelia on the bc with Celia as a nn. I think that that is not a massive leap, and it's better than re-using a name. Jmo. although, i do understand that for your fourth child you've used up your fave names, especially when all children same sex@

I have same first name as my sister's middle name and it has never bothered me.

My best friend is called after her elder sister who sadly passed away as a very young baby.

She has always thought of it as a honour to have the name and to make sure noone forgets her big sister.

I was having this convo with my DH the other day...I love my DDs middle name and wished now that we'd 'saved' it, DH thinks we could reuse it but I disagree, it wouldn't feel fair, even though I LOVE the name.
