Clementine?

Which way do people generally pronounce it?

I think I like both, one reminds me of the fruit but I don't think that is a bad thing.

I have a clementine. So obviously I love it

Love it. Reading a book about the Mitford sisters and it seems every other friend of theirs was called Clementine so a real turn of the century name. Very attractive sound.

Yes, was going to ask about the pronunciation...

Clementeen, ClementINE...?

Love it either way though.

I taught a Clementine (pronounced Clementeen not as in the song). Think it is rather nice.

I LOVE this but DH refuses. It sounds especially nice said we a french accent btw.

I think it's lovely. Could be shortened to Min which I think is nice - I used to have an 'Aunt Min', not sure what it was short for.

Possibly not if there's any chance of her being a red head...

vote here for Clemency.... how about Genevieve if you like Vivienne?

I like Clementine, but not the shortened versions, and as it is quite a mouthful, it would end up being shortened all the time?

Clementine is fab.

Tis the middle name of a character in Thomas Hardy Return of the Native - a baby called Eustacia Clementine - always thought it quite sweet myself

I think Clemency goes better with your other names. I have this thing about name lenght and couldn't have one much longer than the others!

Plus Clementine is very frilly compared to your other 3.

Love it, my DD's middle name. Would have loved to use it as a first name but DH was not convinced.

I like it but can't stand Clem or Clemmie for some reason.

I love it!

I think it is fabulous and would love to be brave enough to use it. maybe i would but just as a middle name. I think the song is only significant to those in an older generation, I'm a teacher and remember trying to explain to my Year 9s that the "Beasts of England" song from Animal Farm would be to the tune of "Oh my darling..." and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about...Go for it!!

Clemency or Clementine are no 1 on my and DH's list. We will def be using if its a girl!

Clemmie will be the nn for us...

I LOVE it obviously!

(Felix is our no 1 for a boy..)

I like it Also like Clemency and Clementina.

Gorgeous.

Love it. Was top of my list for if I had a girl. Winston Churchill's wife was Clementine, so not a fantasy name at all. It used to be quite popular, and hence like a lot of 'old lady' names is coming back round again.

I'd have probably ende up calling her Tiny.

my ss is clemency.usually shortened to clem or clemmie.mn is vienna which is very pretty imo.

I loved it until everyone sung the song, said orange or flemmie to me!

Vivienne is very pretty without any of the possible nasty nicknames
