Ebeneezer

Go for it 🙂

Oh good!
Eben is, I guess, the electric Ben.

E's r good E's r good, Waaaaahaaaaaaa
my first thot.

A terrible name for an old geezer or a miserable chap.

How about Adam, Peter, Moses, Thomas or Caleb.

Poor kid. People will be laughing at him his whole life. Probably behind his back I guess, but still.

What a pair of numpties his parents must be.

Jesus Christ no

Noooooooo. Its either associated with a tight fisted old man or a shamen song about doing drugs. Why- just why, would anyone do this to their child? Its cruel.

I think it's quite cool actually... but you'll need to be prepared for the jokes. Won't work well for a shy introverted child. However he could just call himself Ben if he wanted

I know a five year old Ebeneezer and he's lovely. Nobody I know ever comments on his name negatively but I do silently think Es are good Es are good every time I see him.

It's not good. Dickens named his characters brilliantly, often to reflect their nature. Eben is lovely though, weirdly.

Awful

I like it, I had a great uncle Eb, he was really fun and I loved spending time with him

This

NO! Michael Caine.

Eezer good! Eezer good! He's Ebeneezer good!

I think of the shamen song too. suppose the babies generation though will never of heard of that song so won't make that connection

No doubt one of their parents will mention it in passing. Then there will be no getting away from it.

Cue the song being played everytime they walk into a room in their teenage years.

Actually I do know a baby Eben, it never occurred to me that it’s short for Ebenezer!

This thread has made me realise that shamen song is imprinted on my brain and if I had to recite one song in order to survive this would be it! Haven't heard it in such a long time. The name at least would bring fond memories - wouldn't name my own child it though 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

My friend has an Eben. Lovely young man of 24. So I like it.

If he has a sister she must be called Molly

Oh fuck no!

Laaaaavely.... hahahaha 😆

Naughty, naughty!
