Klelia?

It's the /cl/ and /l/ in quick succession maybe.

Either way, I met a lovely lady called this so it has good associations for me but it isn't a particularly nice name to say. If you like it, go with it but I don't think it's a name that will be broadly loved.

Clementina
Clemenza
Clara
Clothilde
Clarissa
Clarabel

I prefer Klitoriana.

Do you pronounce it as if you are a cat coughing up a fur ball?

Whatever you decide, at least spell it with a C not a K fgs!

There is no board I find more annoying and ignorant than the baby names board. Klelia is a name used in other countries and I think it is rather beautiful. People generally make an effort when they meet you to pronounce and learn other names properly. I am foreign and generally find people pronounce my difficult name well. Only on mums net do people purposefully mispronounce and offend names.

Call your baby a name you love. Why ask a bunch of strangers what they think? All my children have names we love. They would be ridiculed by the people on this board. Never had any issues in real life. And so far they all love their names.

Sounds like a disease.
'OMG, she's got Klelia, you know! They're doing what they can for her but there's no known cure! She'll have it forever, now.'

Dreadful.

Young children will have difficulty pronouncing it and old people will ask you to repeat it!

The K spelling is too Kardashian.

Is Clelia Cleh-lia, Clay-lia or Clee-lia?
Celia and Delia are much nicer, less of a mouthful.

In what other countries is Klelia used, @Dogsandbabies ?

@MerryChristmasToYou relatively common in both Greece and Bulgaria. I had two Klelia's in my school year.

No, not a favourite for me. What's wrong with something classic and lovely, like Jane?

Here is a thread on Clelia

Clelia for a girl? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/4697951-clelia-for-a-girl?msgid=-4697951#-4697951

Thanks @Dogsandbabies . I'd only seen it with a C.
Only 5 Clelias and 0 Klelias registered in England & Wales in 1996-2021

@MerryChristmasToYou the pronunciation is more like clei-(rhyme with tray) lia, each vowel given its full strong form, as there are no short/long/weak vowel distinctions in Italian.

I don't mind it @Nescafegoldblend though I'd spell it with a C.

It's not my cup of tea. Not sue to pronunciation I just don't came much for the harsh sound of the start of the name.

I like unusual names but this is a no from me.

I'm not keen names like Chloe, Clara and Clemmie, the CL sound sounds harsh in UK accents.
There are lots of L-heavy names (Lily, Lyla, Lilia, Layla) popular.

It might be nice in an italian accent

OK forget pronunciation, it's just horrid.

It sounds like you're mispronouncing something even though you're not. Not even sure what you'd be pronouncing but it sounds wrong regardless.

Celia is cute. Camelia is nice.

Sounds like something you would need to request a private room in the Pharmacy to discuss

Agree it's kind of tongue twister to pronounce and it ugly sounding.

The the -elia ending carries with it a strong association of medical conditions no one wants as in have you met my three daughers:
Gonorrhoea
Diarrhoea
and Klelia

Please don't do this to an innocent child. That's a life long curse.

Kalamata ❤

I wasn't so keen on the name Clelia and then reading it as Klelia I really like it! I've no idea why the K makes a difference. How do you pronounce it exactly. I looked it up and there seems to be Clelya or Clay ee a suggested , but I don't know what you are thinking. Cleh-ee-ya or Clay-ee- a or Clay - ee-ah or Clell-lee-ya.

As for the comment about "elia" endings- WHAT? Amelia, Celia, Cecelia, Camelia, Aurelia, Cordelia- these are all widely used and some really popular.

I think it very much how it's pronounced as to whether it works really and there seem to be a few ways?

@Hadtocomment , the pronunciation will depend on country/native language.
Klell-ya in the UK, more like Clail-ya in italian etc

Is it Leila with a K at he beginning or Kle- eye- lah

My thoughts exactly! Sorry OP. Pleas - just don't!
