Ada or Violet?

I like Ada better of the two. Violet sounds lovlier to my ear as the French version Violette.

Tough choice, I like both too! Maybe wait and see when she gets here. One might fit better than the other.

What are you thinking in terms of middle name? I personally Love the name Violet

Violet. Ada, just my opinion, brings to mind old ladies who lived in the 40s. With a blue rinse.

Ada is a very old fashioned name though I guess it might come back into fashion. So is Violet. I’m afraid I’m thinking that Violet might get nicknamed “Violent” at school!
Congrats!

A friend's DD (now 3 or 4) is called Ada. She suits it and I prefer it to Ava which is far more common.

I personally don't think Ada is very old fashioned.

I know 2 x adas so now feel like it's a young name. Saying that i dont like short names, so violet

I suppose so a bit. I've got a friend called Wioletta (Viola) - she goes by Viola.

Congratulations! Both are lovely, would you consider Ava as a compromise almost?

Violet screamed and scream until she was sick to get what she wanted from daddy.
Ada was smart and fearless in her own abilities in a world against her.

Violet is a nice name. But i still struggle with Roald Dahl and the name.

Both are nice, but I prefer Violet.

In my area, there are loads of babies called Ada! It's definitely trending here.

Like hell it is. Its one of those names shooting up in popularity and will be reflective of her age cohort. It's very of the moment without over doing it. It's on trend but overly trendy. Which is the sweet spot to aim for in my opinion.

Violet !! I love that name! My friend named her first daughter Violet and I have loved it ever since. I had never considered the name before 😍

Violet just has a nicer sound to it. I find Ada harsh.

violet.

Not Ada Doom!

Ada is a very old fashioned name though I guess it might come back into fashion. So is Violet

Ada is #44 in the 2021 name stats that were released this week - over a thousand Adas born last year. Violet is #45.

So both very much back in fashion right now! Personally I prefer Violet.

Not keen on Ada but ayla is nice. Violet also nice which suits her best ?

I read that as Asda

Violet. Or I prefer the spelling Ayda.

Omg this is the name I want for my little girl when Or if I have a girl ❤️❤️❤️ Ada Violet

Ada Violet would be beautiful! Congratulations on her arrival ❤️

I know an Ada short for Adelaide if that helps?

I like both but prefer Violet.

I prefer Violet of the two, but Ada Violet is beautiful
