Which of these names do you prefer and do you have any other similar suggestions?

SundayMorningSun · 15/12/2019 09:21

Prefer Etta.

Briar?
Ada?
Ida?

daisypond · 15/12/2019 09:22

Out of those, Blythe. Etta is a bit of a non-name.

daisypond · 15/12/2019 09:23

Joy?

NaToth · 15/12/2019 09:28

Love Etta. Hippy dippy neighbours have a Blythe. Puts me off.

Hatscarfandgloves · 15/12/2019 09:41

Blythe.
But mainly because of Gilbert.

Robs20 · 15/12/2019 09:42

Etta!

Poorolddaddypig · 15/12/2019 09:45

Etta is sweet! Blythe makes me think of Corrie for some reason, although I can’t remember the character

MrsNoMopp · 15/12/2019 09:52

I prefer Blythe.

Greta
Claire
Adela
Stella
Marissa
Coletta
Jessica

Summergarden · 15/12/2019 09:55

There’s an Etta at preschool, she’s adorable and I love the name!

JonnyPocketRocket · 15/12/2019 09:55

Both of those are lovely! How about Etta Blythe as first and middle? Unsolicited suggestion that you couldn't possibly have thought of yourself
Blythe also has a lovely meaning; does Etta mean anything?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 15/12/2019 10:02

Blythe, entirely because of Gilbert!

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 15/12/2019 10:03

Blythe is awful

georgialondon · 15/12/2019 10:09

I love Etta. It has been on my list before. Blythe is really ugly to my ears.

BaggaChips · 15/12/2019 10:19

I love both names but would pick Etta.

GaraMedouar · 15/12/2019 10:20

Etta

notthemum · 15/12/2019 10:20

Definitely Etta

roiseandjim · 15/12/2019 10:21

Etta

OceanSunFish · 15/12/2019 10:22

Etta

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/12/2019 10:24

Love Blythe

How about Blanche? Retro chic?

TalentedMsRipley · 15/12/2019 10:38

Etta. Blythe is grim.

ladycarlotta · 15/12/2019 11:25

Aw, I think Blythe is lovely. Etta is nice too but I'd expect it to be short for something - Henrietta, Nicoletta or similar.

I am surprised Blythe is so divisive.

To me it’s a classic and I thought I slightly preferred it to Etta. Worried Etta is a bit too cutesie.

Dare I ask what thoughts are on Bette?

peachgreen · 15/12/2019 13:00

I adore Etta. Blythe is a lovely middle name.

Too much pronunciation difficulties with Bette I think.

BlouseAndSkirt · 15/12/2019 13:02

Blythe is awful.

I suppose I hear blithe and blithely is such a negative description.

I find the sound unattractive , too.

BlouseAndSkirt · 15/12/2019 13:02

And Blythe sounds like the surname of a stuck up character from an Agatha Christie novel.
