How to treat heavy bleeding
If your child has fallen over or cut themself, and the bleeding cannot be stopped easily, try to keep them calm and follow these instructions:
1. Put pressure on the wound with whatever is available to stop or slow down the flow of blood.
2. Call 999.
3. Keep pressure on the wound until help arrives.
