  • 15g baking powder

  • 100g sugar

  • 500g flour

  • 1 pinch nutmeg (or similar)

  • 500g quark

  • 2 eggs

  • 100g flaked almonds

  • 150g margarine

  • 150g prunes chopped

  • 1 lemon rind grated


  1. Mix everything together, except the fruit and nuts, to form a dough.
  2. Add the fruit and nuts, but don't mix too much.
  3. Shape into a loaf on a baking tray and bake at 180C for 70 minutes.

Handy Hint

If you like it to be less moist, split into 2 loaves or bake at slightly lower temperature for longer.

    Keeps for days. Delicious and filling, and you can change the fruit/ nuts to suit taste. Kept me sane in early days with DS2, when I was BF and constantly starving, but had no time to cook. Got fed up with buying fruit loaves. This is also more nutritious!
