3 tbsp plain flour (self raising will do if that's all you have)
- Put the flour in a mixing bowl and make a 'well' to crack the egg in.
- Using an electric hand mixer, gradually mix in the milk.
- Heat a little butter or oil in a frying pan. When hot, pour in a cup of the mixture.
- Cook on one side until slightly brown, then turn with a spatula (or toss if you don't mind getting it wrong/have more than five minutes to spare!) and cook the other side.
Serve with honey, maple syrup, chocolate or fruit spread, jam, lemon and sugar - anything you like.
