  • 1 splash olive oil

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 50g pine nuts

  • 4 big handfuls of basil leaves

  • 50g pecorino or Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic


  1. Put the basil, garlic and salt in a food processor and whizz everything into a paste. Add the pine nuts and cheese and enough oil to make it into the right pesto-y consistency.

Handy Hint

Add more garlic for adults.

    I make this whilst the pasta's cooking. Serve it with green beans mixed into the pasta, or with salad. Also delicious on baked potatoes.
