Oatmeal stuffed neeps (turnips)

  • 1/4 onion (use one onion per four turnips)

  • 1 turnip (or neep)

  • 25g oatmeal (per neep)

  • 1 knob butter


  1. Gently fry the onions in the butter until soft and then add the oatmeal lightly frying until it turns a light golden brown colour.
  2. Cut the top off each neep and then scoop out the insides and set aside.
  3. Place the oatmeal stuffing into the turnip nest placing the “lid” back on.
  4. Put in the oven at about gas mark four for 30 mins until the turnips are roasted through.
