  • 2 tbsp uncooked rice

  • 1 large leek sliced

  • 2 tsp fresh parsley chopped

  • 1 large skinned chicken leg

  • 2 inch piece turnip chopped

  • 1 medium potatoes peeled and chopped

  • 3 carrot peeled and chopped


  1. Put all the ingredients, except the parsley in a large pot and add cold water until the ingredients are just covered. Bring to boil then simmer for 1-1.5hrs until the chicken is cooked and comes away easily from the bone.
  2. Remove the chicken leg and take all the meat off the bone. Return chicken meat to the pan and add the parsley.
  3. Blend to desired consistency. Refrigerate overnight to thicken then freeze in portions.
