  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp golden syrup

  • 5 tbsp white sugar


  1. Combine sugar and golden syrup in a pot and stir over a low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Turn up the heat and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat as soon as the mixture boils.
  3. Add baking soda - the mixture will froth up at this stage and turn a nice creamy golden colour. Stir quickly to make sure it is all combined and pour immediately into a greased tray.
  4. Leave until cold and hard, then break into pieces.
