  • 2 courgette chopped into chunks

  • 3 potatoes peeled

  • 4 carrot peeled

  • 1 knob butter

  • 1 splash milk


  1. Steam the potatoes, carrots and courgettes until cooked
  2. Mash together with a knob of butter, and a little milk, although you can omit the butter and milk if a dairy-free diet is required.

    This mash can be used on its own or as a topping for a shepherds pie or served with meat, sausages,chicken, burgers etc This encourages young children to get used to trying a new vegetable like courgettes. Other vegetables such as jerusalem artichokes,peas, sweetcorn may be added.
