  • 115g self-raising flour

  • 118ml milk

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 30g sugar

  • 1 medium eggs

  • 1 pinch salt


  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Make a well in the centre of the mixture. Add egg and whisk, slowly add milk, and whisk to smooth batter.
  3. Place spoonfuls into a hot frying pan. Cook for two minutes, turn over, and remove when scones are golden on both sides.
  4. Serve with butter and jam.

Handy Hint

Place a little sunflower oil in the pan, even if non-stick.
