  • 1 sprig rosemary (or thyme or you can use dried herbs)

  • 8 sausages

  • 400g tinned beans in water (butter are my favourite)

  • 400g passata or chopped tomatoes

  • 2 handfuls pancetta or bacon bits

  • 2 handfuls vegetables chopped (eg onion, celery, carrot)


  1. Fry the pancetta or bacon for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add the onion and celery if using and fry for a few minutes.
  3. Brown the sausages.
  4. Add the tin of beans (don't drain the water) and the tomatoes plus another tin of water and your herbs.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes with the lid off.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes with the lid on.
  7. Remove the rosemary sprig and serve.

Handy Hint

You can also use chorizo and flavoured sausages for different twist or add garlic.
