  • 200ml double cream

  • 1 tbsp mixed spice for dusting

  • 1 tbsp rum or other alcohol

  • 200g chocolate smashed to bits

  • 3 cardamom pods

  1. Place cream in a large measuring jug or bowl and bring it to the boil in the microwave.
  2. Add the chocolate and poke under the cream. Leave for a few minutes and stir, if still lumpy leave longer and stir again.
  3. Cut open the cardamom pods with a small sharp knife and scrape the seeds onto a large metal spoon. Crush them with the back of another spoon and add to chocolate mix.
  4. Add 1/2 tsp of mixed spice and the rum and stir.
  5. Lay out the cups on a tray, fill with the truffle mix, and refrigerate for a few hours.

Handy Hint

Could put a whole glace or maraschino cherry in each cup and pour the truffle around it.

Yes please, agree with LocalEditorWSx what are the cups, does it mean the paper cases? Can't I just eat the whole lot out of the bowl then make another load to put in the cups?? Thanks

When you say cups, do you mean the paper cases or actual cups?...

Ooh, and you could soak the glace cherry in booze too [hic]

Kids can help but that would be cruel because it's not like you're going to let them have any! You could do a cheaper kiddy version with cadburys and Elmlea I guess.
