Prep time:

Cook time:

Serves: 1

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 small carrot

  • 1 celery stick

  • 1 handful small cauliflower

  • 100g strong cheddar cheese

  • 1 bag crisps

  • 100g ham, chopped

  • 2 slices ciabatta loaf, sliced

Before actually putting this monster together, ready the separate elements:

  1. Pickle a handful of chopped celery, carrots and cauliflower in advance
  2. Get a spoon in the Branston - you want 2 tbsp
  3. Wet the bread all over quite liberally and throw it straight onto the shelves of a REALLY hot oven. This should take 3-5 minutes to do its magic
  4. Heat the ham until it’s warm the whole way through
  5. Mix the shredded lettuce with nice, big parsley leaves and the pomegranate seeds
  6. Chop up your pickle(s) of choice into uniform chunks
  7. Get a spoon in the mayonnaise
  8. Open the crisps and crush them completely in the bag with your hand
  9. Cook your macaroni according to pack instructions, melt the cheese and add to the cooked and drained pasta
  10. Deep fry the mac and cheese until golden and crispy

Now to build:

  1. Cut the bread in half horizontally

  2. Smother the inside of the top half of the bread in mayonnaise, making sure every bit is covered

  3. Pile your hot ham on the bottom half of the bread in a nice even layer

  4. COVER it in Branston Original Pickle

  5. Sprinkle the crunchy macaroni cheese on top of the ham and Branston

  6. Chuck your pickled vegetable chunks on top of this

  7. Then add a generous pile of the salad

  8. Cover the mayo’d top with the crushed-up crisps

  9. Lid on. Bit of a squish, cut it in half, then BOOM. The Branston Boss Sandwich is ready.

  10. Eat away!
