  • 1 clove garlic crushed

  • 1 tbsp rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (any seed works well)

  • 2 spring onions finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp Grated carrot

  • 4oz cooked beans or chickpeas

  • 1 egg beaten

  • 1 pinch Chilli flakes, chopped herbs and other seasoning


  1. Using a small food processor, chop up or mash the beans, onions & garlic until you have a breadcrumb consistency.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients plus the beaten egg and mix well.
  3. Now set aside the mixture for at least an hour so that the egg is absorbed by the other ingredients.
  4. Wet your hands and form into patty shapes… you can dip them in sesame seeds or flour at the end for extra texture.
  5. Place the burgers on oiled foil and cook for about 5 minutes until they have firmed up. Turn over and cook the other side.
