  • 250g gruyère cheese

  • 1 splash lemon juice

  • 1 knob butter/spread

  • 6 slices ham

  • 4 chicory heads


  1. Cook the chicory whole in butter on very low heat, covered, with a sprinkle of lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  2. When they're cooked - around 30 minutes - roll each one of them into a slice of ham.
  3. Put them in a dish that goes in the oven and spread some gruyere (or cheddar) over them. 4. Add the cooking juice on top and let the cheese melt in the oven for a further 10 minutes. It's yummy!
