  • 8oz self-raising flour

  • 6oz caster sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • 2lb cooking apples

  • 4oz butter

  • 1 tbsp demarara sugar


  1. Grease and line baking tray (25cm / 28cm / 5 cm deep approx.)
  2. Peel apples and chop up into small pieces.
  3. Mix butter and sugar, followed by eggs. Then sift in flour gradually.
  4. Add a little bit of milk
  5. Stir in apple and add a bit of Demerara sugar.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes approx.
  7. Allow to cool & take out of tin.
