Easy fish pie

  • 1 pint milk

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1 handful frozen peas

  • 3-4 potatoes

  • 1 tbsp margarine

  • 1 handful prawns cooked

  • 100g plain flour

  • 1 piece of undyed smoked fish

  • 1 piece of unsmoked white fish

  • 1 piece of salmon (optional)

  • 2-3 boiled eggs


  1. Peel cook and mash enough potatoes for amount of people.
  2. Boil the fish in milk, enough to cover, add dried parsley, salt and pepper and boil for 8 minutes until fish is cooked.
  3. Strain the liquid off and keep in a jug
  4. Flake the fish into an oven proof dish and remove any skin.
  5. Make a white sauce with milk from the milk kept and mix with the fish along with the prawns and a handful of frozen peas and chopped up boiled eggs.
  6. Top with mashed potato and cook in the oven for 20 mins at 180C.
