Stilton, pear and watercress bites

  • 200g unsalted butter (or spread)

  • 1 pear sliced

  • 1 block stilton thinly sliced

  • 1 handful watercress

  • 1 ciabatta sliced


  1. Crisp the slices of ciabatta either under the grill or in the oven for a few minutes.
  2. Take the butter and blend with the watercress in a food processor to get a watercress butter and spread generously on the toasted slices.
  3. Top each piece with one slice of pear and one slice of stilton.
  4. Put under a moderate grill to melt the stilton.
  5. Serve hot.

Handy Hint

Watercress butter can be made in advance to make this even easier to assemble
