  • 115g sugar

  • 4 tbsp golden syrup

  • 4 tsp water

  • 140g butter or margarine

  • 280g rolled oats


  1. Put butter, sugar, water and syrup into a saucepan.
  2. Heat over a gentle heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the oats and stir well.
  4. Put into a 9inch square tin (greased).
  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 175C (150C if fan oven).
  6. Allow to cool a bit. Cut into rectangles while still warm then allow to cool fully.

Handy Hint

Baking parchment can help prevent sticking to the tin.

    Quick and easy flapjack recipe. You can add things to this, such as: Glace Cherries, Raisins, Chocolate, 2 tsp of Ginger.
