Crab and mushroom delight

  • 1 tsp mustard

  • 100ml dry white wine

  • 1/2 tsp mixed herbs

  • 75g breadcrumbs

  • 2 tbsp plain flour

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 100ml single cream

  • 450g crab meat (fresh, frozen or tinned)

  • 150g mushrooms sliced (any variety)


  1. Gently fry mushrooms in a frying pan until lightly cooked.
  2. In a saucepan, mix flour, butter, mustard, herbs, cream and wine and bring to the boil, stirring all the time.
  3. When boiling, add mushrooms and crab meat to sauce and put into slow cooker.
  4. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and cook in slow cooker for about 6 hours on low.

Handy Hint

Buy your crabmeat tinned, taste more or les the same as fresh and no fiddling about.
