  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 eggs beaten

  • 50g (or a bit more) plain chocolate

  • 225g granulated sugar

  • 50g plain flour sifted

  • 110g butter

  • 110g nuts chopped

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180C.
  2. Oblong tin - 17x28 cm well greased or lined with greaseproof paper.
  3. Melt butter and broken chocolate together in basin over simmering water on very low heat. Away from heat stir in all other ingredients and spread into a lined tin.
  4. Bake in oven for 30 minutes or so or until mix starts to shrink from sides of tin or centre feels springy. Don't overcook as they will firm up as they cool.

Handy Hint

This is a recipe that was given to my Mum by an American friend. So easy and quick and it never goes wrong. I tend to increase the amount of chocolate and decrease the sugar. I also tend to undercook them so they're super gooey and messy (be warned).
