  • 75g brown sugar

  • 75g golden syrup

  • 250g rolled oats

  • 150g butter or margarine


  1. Preheat the oven to 175C.
  2. Melt the butter and golden syrup over a low heat.
  3. Mix together the other ingredients and add the melted butter and syrup.
  4. Add any extras (chopped dried fruit, nuts, choc chips etc) and mix thoroughly.
  5. Press the mixture into a baking tray and bake in oven for 20-25 mins.

    I tell you people, this is the AUTHENTIC recipe for flapjacks!!!!!!!!!! i've made it many times with nuts and stuff inside and it always works...!!! just cook less in oven for more soft texture.

    SImple yet perfect recipe for flapjacks. My children like to put choc chips on them while still warm.

    I just tried this and added a grated apple, coconut, dried apricot and dried cranberries. Very easy and very nice indeed.

    Nut-free obviously if you don't put nuts in !!!!
