  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

  • 1 onion diced

  • 1 pinch paprika

  • 450-500g minced beef

  • 2 large carrots sliced

  • 1 pinch mixed herbs

  • 1 beef stock cubes

  • 4 large sweet potatoes

  • 1 tbsp gravy granules

  • 1-2 handfuls peas or chopped green beans

  • 6 mushrooms

  1. Soften the chopped onion in a little olive oil, add the mince and brown off.
  2. At the same time bring a large pan of water to the boil and add the sweet potato and generously chopped carrots. Leave to boil for approx 15-20 minutes until mashable/mushable.
  3. Add the stock cube, you can leave this stage out if intending to feed to baby.
  4. Add the mushrooms and the carrot circles to the mince. Add the peas/green beans a few minutes before finishing the mince, season to taste and add required amounts of herbs as above.
  5. Add about 100/200mls of water to the mince and enough bisto to create a gravy. Again if concerned about salt content this stage can be left out and the meal served with gravy instead.
  6. Pour into an oven proof dish and transfer mashed potato and carrot mixture over the top.

Handy Hint

try to keep the topping messy, either pile on with the masher or rake up with a fork for untimate yummy crispiness!

If its not going crispy bung it under the grill for the last five minutes!
