  • 7oz self-raising flour

  • 6oz caster sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda

  • 3oz butter

  • 3oz butter

  • 3 banana (mashed)


  1. Cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  2. Gradually beat in the eggs, then stir in the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix in the remaining ingredients until well blended.
  4. Spoon into a greased loaf tin and bake at 180C for an hour until well risen and firm to the touch.

    very good and moist. Assumed you meant 6oz butter, 60z sugar and 7oz of flour and it came out lovely. Also added a handful of chopped glace cherries.
