1 pinch icing sugar (for dusting)
570ml double cream
1 splash fruit juice (for sprinkling)
450g fresh strawberries
30 trifle sponge fingers
- Whip the double cream.
- Arrange 10 sponge fingers at the bottom of glass dish. Sprinkle a little juice over the sponges.
- Spread cream and top it with strawberries, which can be cut into halves.
- Put 10 fingers on top of this layer, and repeat this 3 times.
- When finished dust it with icing sugar, leave it to stand in the fridge covered at least over - an hour at least, but longer is better.
Great gateau in the summer when you can pick your own strawberries and get kids to do it. No cooking gateau. Made this with children and they totally enjoyed it.
