  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

  • 115g caster sugar

  • 1 tbsp golden syrup

  • 28g cocoa powder

  • 150ml milk/soya milk

  • 55g butter/vegan margarine

  • 115g plain flour


  1. Mix ingredients together and divide into cake cases.
  2. Cook on Gas Mark 3 for 30 minutes in the middle of the oven.

Handy Hint

These can be eaten warm (recommended!) with cream/dairy-free cream or cold with butter/vegan margarine icing. My toddler hearts them very very much.
