  • 3 tbsp natural yoghurt

  • 15g porridge oats

  • 1 handful fruit fresh or frozen, eg: raspberries


  1. Mix all the ingredients together and voila - lovely breakfast that will keep you going until lunch!

    A lovely healthy breakfast, but definitely not a recipe for cranachan! The link above is more like it, but it's always made with pinhead oats in my experience.

    Not a Scot, but always thought Cranachan should have whisky in it and the trick is to toast the oats first and infuse with cream, not sure how this one is different from the breakfast pots they sell in places like Pret. Here's one I made earlier (with liberal amounts of drambuie and roasting the oatmeal and using double cream).
