  • 110g cheddar grated

  • 1 150-200g mushrooms - white work best chopped

  • 1 tin chopped tomato

  • 1lb pork sausage cooked and chopped

  • 300g tagliatelle

  • 3 tbsp plain flour

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 2 handfuls mushrooms chopped

  1. Cook the sausages in a deep sided saucepan. When mostly cooled or cold, toss the cooked chopped sausages in the flour so that they are coated. Then, cook the pasta.
  2. Use the same big pan as you had for the sausages, to cook the onion and then the mushrooms, in a knob of butter.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and heat through. Season to taste.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, stir it into the veg mix.
  5. Then stir the flour-coated sausages through the whole lot.
  6. Transfer to a casserole dish.
  7. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top and heat for 15-20 mins around 190 degrees.
  8. Serve with a simple green salad and / or garlic bread if you are really hungry!

Handy Hint

You can throw in any suitable veg of your choice! And herbs if you fancy. Also don't worry if you don't have tagliatelle - it works with any shaped pasta.

Excellent receipe a welcome variation on the packet I usually use! Good for surreptitiously adding additional vegetables too!!

The flour gives the whole dish lovely tasty texture. Kids can help coat the chopped sausages in the flour - fun and messy! you may wish to cook up extra sausages as the sliced sausage is so tempting for nibbling by the cook and his / her 'helpers'!
