  • 1lb golden syrup

  • 9oz dried fruit eg apricots

  • 18oz porridge oats

  • 7.5oz margarine


  1. Melt the margarine and syrup in a large saucepan.
  2. Leave to cool.
  3. Add oats and fruit, mix well.
  4. Place in dish approx 9” square. Put in oven for 12 minutes at 180C until golden.
  5. Mark into squares whilst still warm, allow to cool and cut along marks into squares.
