Olé (mince, pasta and sweetcorn)

  • 140g tomato puree (from a tin)

  • 1 large onion chopped

  • 326g sweetcorn (from a tin)

  • 1 handful cheese grated

  • 500g mince

  • 350g tagliatelle

  • 1 tsp chilli powder (to taste)

  • 1 tin cream of tomato soup


  1. Fry the meat and onion in a large pan.
  2. When the meat has browned, add everything else, stir and simmer.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the tagliatelle.
  4. In a big casserole dish, alternate layers of pasta with the meat mix, then top it with grated cheese.
  5. Bake at 180C for 30 minutes.

Handy Hint

Can be stretched by using extra pasta and sweetcorn and cans of chopped tomatoes

    This has been adapted from the "I Hate to Cook Book", this is a great recipe for a crowd and can be stretched even further by using extra pasta and sweetcorn and cans of chopped tomatoes. It also freezes well. By the time I left university, I was being served it by people I hadn?t given the recipe to! It?s called Olé because it is so easy and can be rustled up very quickly.
