  • 100g sugar

  • 100g flour

  • 100g oats

  • 100g butter

  • 1 bowl fruit of your choice

  1. To make the crumble rub together the butter and flour to make breadcrumbs, add the sugar and then oats.
  2. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit.
  3. Place in a pre-heated oven to 180C for 30-40 minutes - until the crumble is going golden brown and the fruit underneath is bubbling.
  4. If you like a bit of spice add a tsp of mixed spice, cinnamon or even ginger to the crumble when making.
  5. Serve with cream, ice-cream or custard.

Handy Hint

You can also make the crumble by simply placing all the ingredients in a bowl and mixing together until you have a lovely crumbly mixture.

This didn't work for me at all. I wonder where I went wrong. it was more like pastry than crumble. i certainly couldn't sprinkle it!

The recipe can be made dairy and wheat free simply by using a dairy free margarine in place of the butter, and using a wheat free flour.
