Salmon grilled with mustard and honey

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard

  • 1 salmon fillets one for each person

  • 1 lemon wedges (to serve, optional)


  1. Pre heat grill to medium to high
  2. Choose a grill pan or roasting dish that will accommodate all the fillets, and very lightly oil if you think the fish will stick
  3. Place salmon skin side up and season with black pepper
  4. Grill skin side for about 4 minutes, until skin is crispy
  5. Meanwhile, mix equal measures of wholegrain mustard and honey together, enough to just cover the fillets
  6. Turn the fillets over and cover the top side with the mustard honey mix
  7. Place back under the grill and cook for about another 4 minutes or until the fillets are just cooked through
  8. Season with more black pepper and serve with lemon wedges if using.

Handy Hint

I prefer to use a mild mustard so as not to overpower the taste of the fish

    I find the glaze keeps the top side of the salmon moist whilst cooking
