Ingredients

  • 300ml milk

  • 3 handfuls cheese grated

  • 500g minced beef

  • 1 box lasagne sheets

  • 1 jar bolognese sauce

  • 1 packet of white sauce mix (or 2 if you like it gloopy)

Method

  1. Put a large pan of water on to boil - add a dash of oil and a pinch of salt to the water.
    2, Heat a little olive oil in a large pan and cook the mince off. Add the jar of sauce and mix well and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the lasagne sheets in accordance with the instructions.
  3. Mix the milk and sauce mix in a microwavable jug and cook according to the packet instructions.
  4. In a shallow roasting dish or casserole dish layer the three ingredients finishing with the cheese sauce. Cover the surface with lots of cheese.
  5. At this stage you can put a lid on and leave it to cool, in which case it will need about 20 minutes at 180C finishing off under a hot grill.
  6. If you want to eat it immediately then pop it straight under the grill.

    Instead of white sauce you can also use a layer of cottage cheese, that's what my mum used to do and I much prefer it to white sauce.

    My DD is obsessed with lasagne so I make massive ones and then cut into portions and freeze... but this cheats one looks great and will have to give it a try as almost run out of my freezer stock!

    Great family favourite of ours. I use the sheets of fresh pasta available in the chilled section of supermarkets. Saves on the precooking and separating out the sheets. Brilliant invention in my opinion -I could never manage to do that without them all tearing up.Would definately need to go in the oven though. I also add any stir fryable veg I have to the mince.

    So easy to make and always go down well, I used the white sauce in a jar and add peppers and onions to the mince.

    This is something you can fling together during the day and then just whack in the oven half an hour before guests arrive/ tea time. I have mince in the freezer and the rest is store cupboard stuff so a handy emergency dish as well! All kids seem to like it although I double the white sauce quantity with mine because they like it gloopy
