we do this but use chopped up pieces of a chorizo sausage- the flavours it releases is lovely, and a little goes a long way. they are £2 ish, and keep in the fridge for weeks!

A nice recipe for children and adults, a very easy meal, we only used 1tbsp of pesto which was plenty.

Go easy on the pesto for beginners. The recipe can be made with all kinds of pestos for variations in flavour. It can be made vegetarian by omitting ham. Pesto does generally contain pine nuts, so may not be suitable for nut allergy sufferers. It also generally contains parmesan cheese. My little boy has a milk allergy, but has always been OK with jarred pesto in small amounts. Gluten free spaghetti can be used if required.
