Soupy mushroom and tomato pasta

  • 2 onion chopped

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp dried basil

  • 400g pasta

  • 1/2 tsp mixed herbs

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 400g plum tomatoes

  • 400g baked beans

  • 400g beef and vegetable broth

  • 10 mushrooms chopped


  1. Heat some oil in a big pan.
  2. Add the onion and mushrooms to a pan and stir a little until onion and mushrooms soften.
  3. Add herbs and spices.
  4. Add a tin of tomatoes and break up the tomatoes, you could use tinned chopped tomatoes too.
  5. Add a tin of soup and stir.
  6. Add a tin of baked beans and stir. Heat gently.
  7. In the meantime cook your pasta.
  8. Mix the pasta with the soup/tomato mix and serve.

    this seems like a good recipe and in comparison to chicken nuggets and chips i am sure it is helthier , carmenere suppose inseatd of using canned toms we could use fresh and reduce some of the salt going to try it tonight see how it goes down

    Hi there, I just wanted to add a word of caution to this recipe as tinned foods often have quite a high salt content and too much salt is bad for toddlers.

    I made this for my little boy, my partner and my mum and dad. Not one single moan from any of them. Even my mum did not comment on how this must have taken me all of five minutes!!
