  • 100ml golden syrup

  • 50g cocoa powder

  • 400g digestive biscuits cut into pieces

  • 200g butter

  • 100g raisins


  1. Gently melt butter, syrup and cocoa powder in a saucepan and take off the heat.
  2. Put raisins in a large bowl. Add digestive biscuits, broken into pieces.
  3. Pour butter and syrup mixture over biscuits and raisins, stir well.
  4. Pour entire mixture into greaseproof-paper-lined tin. Allow to cool, then chill in the refrigerator overnight.

Handy Hint

Put another tin on top of mixture filled with jam jars, beans tins, or similar to squash mixture down and make more compact.
Cut into smallish pieces as it's very rich!
